Bizety is releasing the next update to the CDN Ecosystem Diagram. The purpose of the diagram is to illustrate and group CDNs into areas of specialization, in order to help readers compare the differences between CDNs. For example, Incapsula and CloudFlare are CyberSecurity CDNs. Instart Logic, Fastly and Aryaka Networks are innovation-driven CDNs, and so on. I will no longer be ranking CDNs, only to say that Akamai is the #1 CDN. Akamai and EdgeCast are in the middle circle because they offer the entire CDN feature set, from basic CDN caching services, to DSA, FEO and DDoS Mitigation services. Limelight is still in that group, but barely hanging on, needing only a WAF feature to be included.

- Mirror Image is in a category all by itself called Edge Compute, which is short for CDN Edge Compute-as-a-service
- Azure has been added to the Compute category, along with Amazon and Internap
