FireEye and ForgeRock join forces to provide a new threat intelligence platform

On January 21, FireEye announced that an alliance with open source provider ForgeRock Incorporated. ForgeRock offers a service called Identity Relationship Management, a highly scalable platform that allows enterprise growth by connecting digital customers to new services on any Internet-connected device. ForgeRock is responsible for powering solutions for some of the largest companies and government organizations in the world, specializing in digital identities.

FireEye integrated ForgeRock’s intelligence into FireEye’s own Threat Analytics Platform, in order to enhance security detection and response management. With this new alliance, FireEye’s TAP provides a unique dashboard that enables security intelligence identify attacks that are based on “compromised credentials.” ForgeRock’s real-time intelligence of end-users in conjunction with FireEye’s cloud based security platform allows for clients to make security decisions based on location, IP address, time, known device, and a number of other aspects that give a deeper insight to timing and method of potential attackers. This information is then prioritized according to risk level, thus delivering a service that aids in quickly identifying insider threats and advanced attacks.

According to Steve Pataky, Vice President of worldwide channels and alliances at FireEye, the platform utilizes real-time identity from ForgeRock and FireEye’s database of threat indicators, providing more visibility into attacks and protecting against them.
