The Transparent Caching segment continues to evolve, as new players enter the space with competitive business models. The latest one to throw its hands in the ring is Concurrent Computer Corp, which not only provides localized CDN infrastructure solutions for Network Operators, but also provides software that powers set boxes around the world. Although they are relatively small compared to an Alcatel-Lucent, its great to see a small, highly innovative company emerge within the space.

Also, in this industry, smaller is usually better, especially when companies have 200 to 300 employees, because they can innovate quickly and adapt to the rapidly changing competitive landscape. Today, there is no dominant business model in this segment, and everyone is fighting hard to become that one company. As for us regular folk, we can sit back and watch the action.
